I had my iPhone in the car and it was at 2% so it died, when I got home I pushed the sleep/on button and the apple logo popped up, so I was surprised because it had died, so right when the logo popped up I plugged it in, and when it went to the screen to put the pass code In it turned off, so I left it plugged in, and a second later it turned back on, it said it was charging, and it had 1% battery, and again it turned right back off, then on, then off, it did that repeatedly, so I unplugged it, tried the button again, and it turned on, then off, then on, then off, then I pushed it again and it said it needed to be charged, so I plugged it in and it did the same thing, then I tried a different charger, and it said it was charging. But it said it was all night long and still didn't turn on. So I tried the other charger again and it turned on then off, so I unplugged it and plugged it in again, and it said charging, but all day long it didn't turn on. So the next day I plugged it into my computer and it said charging but wouldn't turn on, so my mom did the home/sleep buttons, and it turned on, then off. We did that a few times and it did the same thing. Then I tried it on another different charger and it did the same thing, so I plugged it back into the computer, and did the home/sleep buttons, and it didn't work no matter how long I did it, and no matter what charger. I'm still charging it right now, but on the original charger I used. Nothing has worked! Has anyone had a problem like this??? DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS?!?

Charge the phone for 30 minutes with the wall charger (not a computer). It should display a charging battery 10-15 minutes after starting. Whether it does or not disconnect it and hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. If nothing happens after 30 seconds your phone is probably broken. If the phone restarts plug it back in and let it charge to 100%. If it still isn't working restore it as a new phone using iTunes. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

If it still doesn't work right after restoring as new your phone is broken; if it is in warranty Apple will replace it, if it is not they will replace it for a fixed fee.

It won't turn on at all. And I have charged it for hours everyday, and also my computer won't reconize it when it is dead, the only thing that ever pops up on the screen is to show that it's charging, or when I unplug it and it says it needs to be charged

I think it needs a new battery, what do you think?

Quite likely. If it is in warranty it won't cost anything; if it is out of warranty Apple will charge $79.

My awesome GF directed me to this lovely forum. I tried this technique (holding down sleep and home button for 20 secs) while my phone was plugged in to my Macbook Pro, and at first nothing and a big sad face for me. Then I just decided to unplug my iphone and reconnect it to my computer and wala! It came back on! Phew! Yay! I love my girlfriend!

    Hey Jazelle,

I have the same problem as yours. My iphone turned off and says conncet to itunes but when i reset it it turns off again now it doesnt even turn on at all. Did you take your phone to the apple store? Did you get it fixed?

I will appreciate if you could get back to me.

I was just having a similar problem...I noticed a bunch of my apps werent working correctly so i deleted them and decided to turn my phone off for a few minutes to just give it a break (i have it on ALL the time) when i went to turn it back on it went to the first screen (with the silver apple) but then it just stayed on that screen, i tried to reset it (holding down the power button and home screen button at the same time) and it seemed to reset but again stuck on the silver apple screen. I came on this forum and read that a lot of peoples problems were solved when they plugged their phone into their computer and let it try and do its own thing and sure enough this worked for me. Hopefully this can help someone out.
