iOS crashed. It happens at times to all computers. Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), Mac or Linux kernel panic, IBM mainframe sysabend. Holding HOME and SLEEP reboots the phone (except Apple likes to say "resets the phone"). It's probably a good idea to do this periodically (weekly) even if the phone hasn't shut off, especially if you never turn it completely off by holding the Sleep button until the "Slide to power off" message appears.

How is a beta 'too beta' for you?

Any beta SHOULD be too much beta unless you are a designated tester or a developer who has to test applications on it. And in both of those cases it is very foolish to install it on a device that you need for day to day use. Beta == Buggy

I dropped my phone a few months ago and the screen shattered, so this has happened at least twice to me and it wont turn on unless in the charger and it wont charge.

however, i found a solution! I simply tapped the back of my phone onto my palm and it turned on and is charging.

I am guessing that when I dropped my phone, it became very sensitive. Luckily, I can fix it now!

the same problem with anyone here... in fact, after i did the wake/sleep + home thing, it didn't work so i took it back to where i bought it and explain to them... the guy too tried several tricks and nothing works. He asked me to come back in 4 hrs back he'll try to fix it... i now can't wait! Apple why is this **** happening? seriously your customers including me find pain in the heart ( a heart attack) after buying your product in 4 days time and find such a problem! Please you need to fix this!!!

Apparently you did not take it to an Apple store. They would have just replaced it. Now that someone else has worked on it you are out of luck if they can't fix it. From your description it sounds like the phone was hacked or jailbroken.

I had this same issue happen to me today. My phone was fine, and then all of a sudden it wont turn on.

I also have a broken lock button that happened spontaneously a month or two ago (Have a case and everything) so I can't do the normal fix. Any thoughts as to what I can do?

If you have a broken lock button you are sadly out of luck. You will need to replace the phone. There are a number of things you need the lock button for, not just for rebooting the phone.

I had the same problem Just now. Thought of taking Iphone to service shop. But I decided to do google search for the solution...

I pressed Home+Sleep buttons (as recommended here) without connecting the phone to the computer. It worked!

    Thank you all!!!

    Have a nice day
