The scariest aspect of my discussion with the surgeon was the determination of the "best" treatment mechanism. We considered in detail the likelihood of my death from other causes within five years, ten years and twenty years.

It sounds like your friend is talking about the recurring questions about cell phone use and cancer due to close proximity to microwave emmissions. There are still no definitive studies, i.e., data, that prove the low level microwave emmissions induce cancer.

If you are concerned, don't buy a 3G model. No 3G, no microwave. WiFi uses a different frequency band. If you are concerned about radio frequency emmissions, turn WiFi off. But please don't then ask about why you can't access the internet 🙂

People like his friend cause me irritation-I haven't gotten cancer yet.

It sounds like your friend is a hypochondriac. An iPad is no more likely to cause cancer than a laptop.

But there is that sperm issue and heat to be considered....

Only if you sit on your ipad for a long period of time.

The iPad doesn't put out any noticeable heat.
