R.I.P. Speakeasy (ISP)

I've been a fanatically loyal customer since 2002, but recent changes in the company are very sad to see. I remember when customer service reps were real techs who could help you troubleshoot your RedHat 7.3 server.

But tonight, my question about why my iPhone can't access Speakeasy IMAP got a useless, non-tech response. I've been using my iPhone with Speakeasy since 2007, but all they could say tonight was:

-----

Hello,
In theory Speakeasy email, IMAP and iPhones should always work with one another, however the reality is they do not always work and the cause has not been found. I do apologize but Speakeasy cannot support IMAP on iPhones.

How the mighty have fallen. Can't recommend Speakeasy to iPhone users anymore.

Looks like they're blaming the iPhone:

Regardless who you had spoken to the answer is the same; unfortunately Speakeasy email does not always work with IMAP on iPhones. Your Speakeasy email account is functional and works with IMAP on other platforms including (as you know) sometimes even other iPhones. As this is not an issue with Speakeasy's email service we cannot provide further support.

If your IMAP settings are the same as they are on the other two phones and they work I would suggest contacting Apple Support as they manufacture and provide support for the iPhone.

The iPhone may work seamlessly with your work's email systems but unfortunately such is not the case with Speakeasy email.

I do apologize for any inconvenience.
