iPad vs. iPod Touch: differences? help me choose

If you purchase the 3G version, it has, obviously, 3G and GPS. The iPad doesn't have a camera.

The size difference is really a much bigger deal than you might at first think. The apps that have been written to take advantage of the larger screen make it a completely different experience than using the Touch. You should really go play with them at your nearest Apple Store.

By the way, if you buy either the new Touch or the iPad, you're going to need to upgrade your system software. If the version you've listed as what you're using is correct, it's too old to support the current equipment.

It is a bit of a dilemma. The ipad's larger screen means that it can have apps that do things that you wouldn't necessarily want to do on the small screen of the ipod (I have an app that lets me keep my sheet music on the ipad as a gig book, for example), but there is the problem that it's a lot more to lug around. On the other hand, the camera in the ipod is nice to have, at least for video (stills are pretty mingy, compared to the camera in the iphone).

If you're young, with great eyesight, the ipod is a lot handier to keep with you all the time, but it sure is nice to have the larger screen of the ipad. Really, this is something you'll have to decide for yourself.

There is no limit to the number of iPads/iPods/iPhones that can be synced to one computer.

Yes, you can buy wall chargers for the Touch. The iPad comes with one as it has higher power requirements.
