There is no security code on any gift card. You're probably being asked, quite possibly erroneously, to confirm the security card on a credit card. If you did enter in a credit card at some point, either re-enter in the security code and see if that will clear the message, or just select "none" in the Payment Methods (this will not, or at least should not, affect your credit balance).
If you continue to have problems - and apparently the iTunes Store has been having significant problems with credit card validation recently - ontact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) and explain the problem to them.
