I don't see the Airplay button

I just update to 4.2 and I don't see the Airplay button, is it only visible when you have a airplay device compatible visible from the Ipad?

Thanks

Yes it is there, in both iPhone 4 and iPad on IOS4.2.1

You need to ensure you are connected to the same LAN network as the airport/airplay device, and then choose the device form the iPhone/iPad to connect, it is very simple and does work...

I have 2 devices, and they both connect to any device i have on the airplay network.

Remember if you set up a password for the airplay device you will need this to be able to connect...!

I will also point out, that if you are currently connected to these airplay devices using iTunes on the same network, this MAY restrict airplay from finding them as they will be considered to be "in use" and there for won't show up. The best way to check on this, is change your iTunes too computer only.

You may also want to note, that while this is something pretty new, there may be some confusion about such things, like if the OLDER tv's will be seen as airtunes in the same way as the new ones...

Also, if you have an  router, will you have a dual network with standard and 5Ghz frequencies, as they may well be classed as different networks for this purpose...

Just so you have an idea of what is involved, if they are all on the same network, they should work...

But the iPhone can only connect to a normal 2Ghz network and not the 5Ghz

Before I buy the latest Apple TV, I want to make sure that Airplay does not work with the older generation models.

I have to 160gig Apple TVs and it is a shame that I cannot use it with Airplay, I was looking forward to that.

Can anyone verify that Airplay definitely does not work with the older generation Apple TVs?

Thanks.

I am so annoyed - it appears people believe that the ATV1 are not being supported for Airplay!! Only Airtunes between iTunes and the ATV1. I only bought by ATV1 about 7-8 months ago!

I am using a stop-gap measure - ie, using the 'Remote' iPad App, which let's me control my iMac's iTunes and lets me select multiple speakers, being the 'Apple TV' speakers - all from the iPad.

But, it's still not as simple as an Airplay icon!

I don't see the Airplay button
