Just updated my iPhone 3Gs to iOS 4.2.1 and I have lost all of my saved voicemail messaged older than one week! What is going on? I save those messages for a reason, I need them back.
Same on iPhone 4....first I lost visual voicemail altogether (went to old-style voicemail), then it came back, asked for my password again, then messages came back.....give it some time and see...
I too have lost my voice mail settings and saved messages on an iphone 3g right after updating to the new ios. Also I have lost the ability to enter my password into the settings for voice mail as I have an alpha numeric password and can only get a numeric keyboard when I try to enter my password.
Have you tried calling into your voice mail?
Press and hold the number 1 on the keypad
Follow prompts old school style.
While in the system go set your voice mail passcode. Then once set, come back to iPhone and ensure it is the same.
The iPhone just mimics what is saved on your carriers servers.
Also remember, every carrier has a time limit to how long voice mail is saved as it is space on their servers, so if the delete it due to saved too long, it will also remove from phone. If there
is an important voice mail you want to save for a long time, you should call into your voice mail and follow prompts there to save for a longer time.
The Visual Voicemail password should be the same as your AT&T Voicemail password, which should be all-numeric since it has to be entered on a phone pad. Or am I missing something here?
