iPod Touch 2G Update?

Doubtful.

Unless Apple announces, there is no way to know why they do or do not do anything, and to speculate would be a violation of the terms of use of this forum.

Multitasking is too RAM sensitive, which ipt2g can't provide

But I really wish that iPod controls (on double Home press) could be like the one from multitasking-enabled devices. I mean you double-tap Home and instead of old-fashion pop-up you see controls comes from the bottom. This feature would fit new style of iOS4 on older devices nicely.

Also in multitasking-enabled devices closing apps is too hard, you have to hold icons, then tap red minus and then press home to return to the normal state.

I suggest just while you holding down an app icon you want to close and just swiping it away from taskbar and it would close. This would be super cool looking and super useful instead of todays scheme of hunting for red minuses 🙂

Multi tasking is memory and processor hungry. The ram and processor is too low to support multi tasking. For home screen wallpaper apple has found by enabling it, the iPod would slow down to unacceptable levels.

i find this doubtful, with a jailbreak, the 2nd gen runs fine, note that it has to run the jailbreak AND the wallpaper, sorry apple i do believe this is to get me to buy a new iTouch. Although i can agree the multi-tasking would slow the 2nd Gen to unacceptable levels.

No it is Not. it runs about 10% slower. the other 90% functions fine. If you wish to get feature go and become a dev and modify the iOS yourself.

Or if you don;t like living within Apple's limit go buy another media player device thats not as good as an iPod Touch
