Apostrophe and inverted comma in Pages - Times New Roman

Since starting with Pages09 in my new MacBook Pro, using OSX 10.6.4 I have a problem with fonts and particularly with Times New Roman. The apostrophe is just a straight stroke ' and it should be a different shape, which can be seen in special characters under Times New Roman, punctuation. The sign for inverted commas, " is also wrong. Anyone know how I can correct this?
