Creating folders not easy. Apps don't move

The new update was premature. When i tap an app to move forward or back a page it will not move to the new page, unlike the iPhone. I figured out that you have to move the app to the task bar, then swipe a page forward or back, then move the app out of the task bar.. Terrible. Same with folders.

Mac, iOS 4, iPad

Eh, no you don't have to do that. It works in the same way as the iPhone. Just move the icon to the edge of the page and it will move to the next page.
Simple.

Yeah right. All software is perfect and nothing ever goes wrong in an update. You are not being helpful for me so please do not post to this thread. Thank you.

Didn't say anything about perfection.
All I am saying is that many people have been using 4.2 for weeks now, and I haven't seen any problem like the one you describe.
It maybe just requires some practice.

You aren't doing it wrong. Lord, it isn't rocket science. The ipad is not nearly as smooth in this regard as the iphone. You are correct, it doesn't work very well, but does work. It is much slower than the iphone. For me I had to SLOWLY move the icon to the edge of the screen and wait for the ipad to respond. I rebooted it which helped it seemed a little.

Just seems to be very finicky.

For a small handful of users. I have not had any issues at all with creating folders, adding to folders or moving apps across multiple screens. In fact, I find it even faster, and easier than on the iPhone. So to say that it's not working, it is not validated.

I highly recommend a hard reset. If you still do not notice an improvement, try doing a restore and it up as a new iPad to see if that doesn't help.

Hey I'm a new pad user and I just did the os update.I was scratching my head about the folders when I read something in a post. Sure enough I held a game app until it started wiggling and moved it into another game app and it created a game folder! I was able to use the same procedure to slowly move an app to another screen. So far so good. On the road so not at home to try network stuff.
