Upgrade to iOS 4.2 1013 error

Use Recboot i had to use it today it is awesome, it will take u out of recovery mode..

I also have this problem, very frustrating. Any solutions?

This does not work. It continues entering in Recovery Mode more and more times.

No, when I clicked on Exit Recovery, the Apple logo appears but after half a minute the restore logo with itunes appears again. I also tried tiny umbrella.

srsly having the same problem here, its really messed up. iphone4 getting 1013 steady and no way to get out of recover mode when installing the error pops up at about 2/3. never jailbroken. how can i get this right? i need my iphone!

Same here, upgrading from 4.1 on iPhone 4. No carrierlocks, no jailbreaks, just default clean iPhone4 upgrading to 4.2.1.

Tried through recovery mode as well as DFU mode. Also rebooted my machine as sugested.

Having same issues - phone stuck in Recovery Loop.
Tried DFU. Clean iPhone (no hacks or jailbroken).
Using OSX 10.6.5 with itunes 10.1

Phone solidly useless now - iOS4.2.1 has an issue.... stay away!

Ill give the instructions just in case you dont like twitter...

1. connect the phone and begin the update/restore.
2. As soon as the first progress bar completes remove this line from /etc/hosts

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

Thats it, your phone will restore and you frustration will disappear.

Im having the same issue with my iphone 4... this is scary stuff..

I had the same problem, then tried to reboot, no luck.
But then I tried to do the process on another mac (I own 2) and it worked.
I advice you to do the same, you might manage to fix it.
