Big Brackets/Parenthesis

Hi There,

I need to use big brackets - the ones that go over several lines as seen in complicated equations – in order to do some phonological notation. I'd prefer not to draw them in, either in Pages or by hand(!), or pay for the Mathtype plugin. And adding them from the character viewer isn't perfect, either as the linespacing means that they either overlap or don't quite meet. There must be a simple solution to this. Please help, you mathematicians, linguists and other multiline parenthesis users.

Thanks

Hello Tom

I got a surprising behavior with this link.

(1) I tried Latex online saying that it requires Firefox
(2) I entered it with Safari . At some attempts, the big "accolade" which I got was not a continuous object. It's a GIF picture with a white area slipping the shape into two components. At other attempts the GIF doesn't display the white area.
(3) when I try to reach from Firefox the page pointed by the link which you posted, Firefox is busy during some seconds then it stop displaying nothing.
