Album art not showing on lockscreen

I didn't know where to put this as I'm not sure what the issue relates to, but here goes.

The title says almost all of it. I see the album art fine in the iPod app, but it doesnt show on the lock screen for most songs. This is new in 4.2 and it happens on my iPhone 3G as well. What gives?! It's not too big of an issue, just an inconsistency that triggers my OCD to get it fixed.

Laptop: IBM ThinkPad R40 - Desktop: Custom - Mac mini 2nd generation C2D, Mac OS X (10.6.5), iPod touch 1G 8GB, iPhone 3G 8GB, iPad WiFi 16GB

It's the same with me. I added an album today and changed the album art of another album after installing 4.2, and neither album art would show up on my lock screen when I'm playing a song from those albums. I fixed it by shutting off my iPhone and turning it back on, and the art for those two albums show up now in the lock screen.

Looks like it's an iOS 4.2 issue, but you can fix it simply by restarting your iPhone after you change album art or add a new album to your iPhone.

Hey i have the same issue. but the difference from my self and you is its only on new songs i buy. i have two new songs i just got and it only shows on my music app "iPod" on my iphone but once i go to my lock screen its gone. for me its only the two i just downloaded so far. i bought them after i did the ios 4.2 update then downloaded them to my iphone from itunes 10. Ill be looking for a fix for this and once i find it ill tell you. are the songs just downloaded again to your iphone? as in new?

hello again. i think i might of accidentally fixed this. for some reason my iphone went off for 2 seconds and went back on. i did not do this all i seen was an apple logo then it went back to everything the same. i went to look at the two songs and they are now on my lock screen. although this is not a great thing for me that it went off for a second it did fix my other issue. just restart. i hope that helps you out. any idea of why an apple logo would show up for two seconds then go right off then back on in about 5 seconds Not connected to the computer?

There is no fix for this annoying bug... rebooting is just a temporary fix, but there isn't a day that goes by in which my album art won't display on the lockscreen. Infuriating.


The latest update does nothing to fix this. And it has nothing to do with 'new' songs or whatever - it's arbitrary. Trust me, I am very fastidious with my music collection.


I'm just praying the new iPhone this September fixes it. Oh please.
