Airplay to ATV and image rotation

Yeah, I'm having the same issue here. Airplay works but the picture is not displayed right side up like it shows on the iPhone. Rotating the iPhone makes no difference either.

Hope someone has a solution for this, gets annoying having to turn your head to view the pictures.

I am having the same issue. All my portrait or vertical photos appear horizontal. My landscape photos are fine. Very disappointed in Airplay. Most photos taken with a camera phone are taken with the phone held the same way you would hold a phone, and they don't work. How could this not of been tested? Hopefully this can be fixed soon. I noticed if you open the photo up in a another app and re-save it, like in Photoshop Express, the photo is fine. So the problem must be with the data originally saved by the iPhone's photo app.

I don't think so, but I can't test it. I am wondering if the people that say it is working if maybe they just already synced their photos. If you sync with iPhoto and then view on the AppleTV from your phone they work fine.

no, this is displaying the photo direct from iphone to appletv via airplay.
the photos in question are not in iphoto, and no PC/laptop is involved in displaying them on the appletv.

portrait photos display correctly

Than that sounds like proof that it is the 3Gs. I I hold my phone upright and snap a "portrait" orientation photo, immediately go to my photos, camera roll, click on the photo, hit the "AirPlay" button, the photo displays on my TV sideways. If you go to any other album, that was synced from iPhoto or Aperture, the same portrait photo display correctly. Also, if I open the photo I just took in Photoshop Express in my iPhone, do nothing but re-save it to my camera roll, that photo than display correctly. I guess that is the current fix. Kink of lame that you need to use someone else's app to fix the photo to display properly in Apple's software.

I wondering if this is an iPhone 3GS issue with IOS 4.2.1? I notice Chenks that you are using an iPhone 4.

It does seem that everyone who has this problem has an iPhone 3GS. I wonder if that is the root of the problem.

Confirm this is a 3GS problem (I have 3GS and 4).
