Q: XSAN FC Switch reporting metadata controllers as 'Both' and not 'Initiator'

In the last couple of weeks we've had problems with our XSAN and have noticed that the metadata controllers are reporting themselves as 'Both' instead of 'Initiator'. This happenned after a firmware upgrade to the Qlogic 5600s we have. We had two older switches which we firmware upgraded because we got two new ones which were already at the newest version.

Everything else has the correct type. All servers are 'Initiators' and all RAIDs are 'Targets'.

Can someone please advise.

MacPro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), XSan, Xserve, Xraid, Promise, Panther,Tiger,Leopard servers

Slight update. We've discovered that it is only the primary metadata controller which is 'Both' on its connectors. The secondary metadata controller is reporting as 'Initiator' on both its interfaces.
