Iphone OS 4.02 gives me "Cannot Access" error when using FindMyIphone

Hello Everyone,

I just installed the new Iphone update yesterday, followed the instructions for setting up the findmyiphone option with me.com and my iphone and I keep on getting a random message on my screen that says "Cannot Access ___@gmail.com, Review your account information in settings."

When I do review the account settings and enter in the email address and password, it verifies perfectly with the check marks. I am able to log in to me.com with no problem with the same credentials.

Any idea why I'm getting this pop up?

I have the same problem on 4 separate iPhone 4s and an iPhone 3G that were all recently upgraded to iOS 4.2.1. All use a new MobileMe account set up solely for the purpose of the Find My iPhone feature. The iPhone 3G has only the MobileMe account, so the bug appears to be with using a MobileMe account.

Me too. Both my iPhone and iPad have been doing this all day since the software update last night. Whenever I hit "settings" it takes me to the email address I entered to sign up for the Find my iPhone tool. The email address I have is the same one I have always used for my iTunes account.

I would estimate I have clicked "settings" a dozen times today.

I have the same problem on my iPhone, updated to iOS 4.2.1, and started happening pretty much straight away.

There is an Apple Support document here, but that doesn't fix my problem:

My Mobile Me account is my own e-mail address, and my iPhone has never had a Beta release of iOS installed - it is however set up as a development device in my developer account.

I've got the same problem. iPhone 4. My phone has never had a beta release on it, nor am I a developer. I just keep getting this pop up over and over. I've verified the password and reentered it several times. I've never been a mobileMe subscriber, but I've had this apple ID for a long time. I can log in to me.com with this apple ID and find my phone correctly, so I don't know why I keep getting the popup.

I had Push turned off under Fetch New Data, but Push was on for Mobile Me under Advanced settings (all my other accounts are set to Fetch under Advanced). The problem was still happening for me with this set up. I don't really want to turn Push on as it drains battery life and I am happy with my hourly Fetch.

I have now set the Mobile Me account to Fetch under Advanced and have tested to see that Find My iPhone still works (it does) and I will see if this makes any difference.

Ok, that didn't work, I still got the verify message, so I will try turning Push on globally, leaving the MobileMe as Push under Advanced and all other accounts set to fetch and then see what happens.

It COULD be something to do with Mobile Me/Find My iPhone requiring Push, but that seems odd seeing as FMI definitely works when Push is turned off...

I will be annoyed if I have to leave Push on, as I don't really want to have to do that.
