Cannot Export Audio

Hello All,

I am sorry for what appears to be a VERY basic issue. I have created a quick video comprised of a background music track, some still images and some video clips with their own audio. When I export, all video, images and transitions are present in the mov file but none of the audio, ever. I have tried several different export presets and have always made sure to include Video and Audio but none of the resultant quicktime movies have any audio. All audio is present and plays fine when I am working in Motion 4. TIA for any input and assistance.

Welcome to the discussions...

First of all, Motion is not an editing system, so using it to combine multiple clips, etc, especially if your project is over 30-60 seconds is an activity best left to Final Cut Pro. It's the hub of your suite of programs.

Generally, when used inside of FCP, the audio checks in, but it don't check out... that is, it goes into Motion (for use with timing, or audio behaviors), but FCP ignores any audio coming out of Motion.

As such, I can't recall exporting audio from Motion directly. What codec/etc were your sources, and what are you exporting to and how?

Thank your Patrick for you input and questions. It turns out that I was being a complete newbie. In previously exporting from other packages I could export to a point that I was content with to view my progress without stutter. Obviously this is not the case with FCS tools. When I changed the play range to my completed boundaries and did an export of that play range the audio was there, without issue.

Thanks again for the pointer on FCP being the hub of the suite. I will change my under development work flow.
