unable to open iphotos11

unable to open iphotos11

I know someone will tell me to search this forum but I have just spent some time doing so and whilst I see similar problems I havent located the same error message. All my iLfife apps show up as iLife 11 except iPhoto! when I try to open it I get a message saying ' the library is not compatible with iPhoto'. Everything was ok before I loaded iLife11? Help

1 - have you updated to version 9.1?

2 - download iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - and see if it will help

3 - yes - there are many answers to this exact question in the forums

Thanks Larry I am looking again at this issue and yes same issue but trying the remedies is not working. I have checked to see if there are any software updates and it appears there are not. When I open iPhoto and look to see what version it is all the options, about iPhoto, preferences etc are greyed out so I cant check the version

go to your applications folder and right click on the iPhoto application and show info - that gives the version number

And IPLM did not help?

Ok done that and I have 9.1. I open up IPLM and I see that my iphoto library is there. It is shown as the default. When I click on default it just says it is not compatible

Update 10/24: I released a quick 3.5.8 update yesterday, which doesn’t yet provide full iPhoto ‘11 compatibility, but does provide a couple improvements for iPhoto ‘11 users, including a fix for those experiencing the issue of being unable to reopen a library after upgrading it to the new iPhoto version. If you have such a library, simply open the library up via iPLM, and you should be prompted by iPhoto to upgrade the library again. Once it’s complete, you should then be able to close and reopen the library normally.

You tried this and IPLM said the library was incompatible? What is the exact error message?
