Find my iPhone use wifi or gps?

Hi all,

I have one question for all...i have installed and setted find my iphone and the mobile me account.

Find my iPhone work for localization with Wifi network (internet) or GPS?...

I have tried to localization my iphone on www.me.com but the iphone is localizable only if the phone is connect on wifi...if the wifi is disabled the iphone is not localizable.

On internet i read that find my iphone work whit GPS localization...i don't understand.

GPS. It can use cell signal and wi-fi to help it locate faster, but it does not need them to acquire a position.

Why when i conncet on www.me.com and click on localization my iphone, this stay in wait for localization?

The iPhone have wifi disable...

I tested it too and it seems that it needs wifi or network on. Say if you have flight mode on (wifi off as well) and if you lose your device, does this mean even the find my iPhone does not work? Can anyone explain further on this? Many thanks!
