You cannot - an OS update is a one way process.

I guess we wait until Apple realizes this release has unresolved issues and another patech or update is released.

Of course, for some that day will never come (sadly) as the issue they have is nothing to do with the update but denial is such a strong force.

Remove your cal/dav calendar sync.

I have absolutely no unresolved issues and that appears to be the situation with the vast majority of users.

Go into iTunes, find the restore screen and use shift-click or apple-click to select the restore button - it will prompt you to select which restore profile you want, and you pick one from before the 4.2 upgrade. You'll be back to 3.2.2.

Sounds like most of the problems the OP is having is easy fixes. He just needs to read up on the new features. My screen lock (inside the multitasking bar) works great. Surely most people have read about all this long before the update?? Mine works great. Love the update.

Sorry, but this is not possible. Apple personally (their computers, lol) has to verify each update (in this case, downgrade) to authorize it. Apple only authorizes the newest version of the iOS, because some people "Jailbreak" their devices, meaning that they modify the software so that they can run unauthorized code and applications. Because some people use this Jailbreak to run pirated Apps, Apple patches the security holes used to Jailbreak in each update. So, if one were to downgrade to an older version, he or she would have the possibility to re-exploit those openings, something Apple doesn't want to happen, therefore they stop authorizing old firmware whenever new one is available.

That's not right. Apple won't authorize an old firmware.

The old Screen Orientation lock is now a mute lock. To lock the orientation, double-click Home, swipe the multitasking tray to the right and an orientation digital button will appear on the left. As for the duplicate calendars, check if iCal hasn't duplicated the Calendar itself. If so, just delete either of the copies and sync your iPad.

Does Microsoft authorize MS-DOS?
