how can i restore my ipad to pre 4.2 update

Hi
Can anyone help? i updated my ipad to 4.2 expecting great things but i have found that i preferred the original. it has duplicated all my calendar events, the screen orientation button wont work. i,m not saying the update is not any good but for me i prefer the original.

As always has been the way of the world.

Of course, for some that day will never come (sadly) as the issue they have is nothing to do with the update but denial is such a strong force.

Sorry, but this is not possible. Apple personally (their computers, lol) has to verify each update (in this case, downgrade) to authorize it. Apple only authorizes the newest version of the iOS, because some people "Jailbreak" their devices, meaning that they modify the software so that they can run unauthorized code and applications. Because some people use this Jailbreak to run pirated Apps, Apple patches the security holes used to Jailbreak in each update. So, if one were to downgrade to an older version, he or she would have the possibility to re-exploit those openings, something Apple doesn't want to happen, therefore they stop authorizing old firmware whenever new one is available.
