Kinda OT: 2d animation progs w/ audio track underlay?

the most often suggested tool for cel-based and onionskin-style stop motion animation on the Macintosh is Boinx iStopMotion.

After Effects is fabulous for cel-style animation but you have to rethink your paradigm. You don't work from cels, you work with libraries of pieces assembled using expressions and parenting.

Sorry, I'm an FCP elitist only. Never used any of those products except After Effects and, yes, scrubbing audio is possible but that's not going to help you in AE.

Must be a huge user supported forum network for stop motion animators someplace.

Toon Boom Studio will let you create traditional cel animations. It's aimed squarely at those with a classic pen/paper background. It will allow for the import of audio & it is scrubbable. (Too, there's a downloadable demo version you can try.)

The key phrase on the ToonBoom site is : *Add audio tracks and lip-sync your animation*
You ought to be able to find something similar either claimed or discussed on each of the other products' marketing pages or in their associated support forums.
