Mobile Banking App not working since 4.2.1 update?
Anyone else's Mobile Banking application not working since the latest iPhone update? As soon as the app is opened it closes out. I tried reinstalling but the same problem repeats... Just checking to see if this is a known issue affecting others...
Has your mobile banking app developer upgraded their software to work with 4.2? Apple gave all devs notices months ago... If you haven't seen an update from the app dev within the past few weeks the I suggest reporting the bug to them as it would be their issue for not keeping your banking app up to date. 🙂
I've got Suntrust bank app. Also the AT&T mobile banking app and get the same result, two different apps. I guess it's just part of the process of weeding out the bugs.
as far as the Mobile Banking on AT&T app is concerned, it says right on the app page in the itunes store that it's not compatible with 4.2 but to not delete it because a patch is coming.
After I read some more about the 4.2.1 update, the issue with Mobile Banking is actually AT&T's and Qualcomm's fault. As the only service provider for iPhone and the manufacturer of the iPhone hardware, you would think they could do a better job than other app developers. I know AT&T is technically challenged (ie... their slow pig of a website), but Qualcomm ? They should have had an update for this app available in advance of Apple's latest OS deployment.
You may find this hard to believe but Apple staff really doesn't have the time to test 300,000 apps before they do an upgrade. It is up to the developer to update their apps.
One mobile banking app worked, but it required reverifying who I was, as it didn't recognize the device. My others all worked normally. Including AT&T.
If an app has stopped working with 4.2.1 you need to contact the app developer. I have 9 banking apps and all of them work normally. Including AT&T Wireless.
Mine quit working also. I installed the app for Regions bank after installing 4.2 and it doesn't work either. After reading these comments I wonder why some peoples work and others don't. It's the same app and the same upgrade. What gives?? I deleted and reinstalled the app and they still don't work. Crap!!
A 3rd party app not working with a firmware update has nothing to do with Apple or the update whatsoever.
3rd party app developers are the ones Apple provides the BETA for a firmware update to for testing and feedback and for the app developers to test their app with the update and for making any appropriate changes as required for their app to work properly with the update or to make use of any new features included with the firmware update that a 3rd party app has access to. The first priority for an app developer with the BETA for a firmware update is testing their app with the firmware update and making any changes to their app as required to function properly if the app no longer functions properly with the firmware update. This is the app developer's responsibility, not Apple's responsibility.
