Flash problem Safari 5.0.3 Windows XP

When I go to this Adobe site:
https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?store=OLS-US&fpr=true

I get this error page:
http://www.adobe.com/help/enus/flash_apprequirements.html?riareqerr=browser&refapp=/cfusion/store/index.cfm

Which basically tells me I need to install the latest version of flash even though it is already installed. Reinstalling flash does not correct the issue.

I can confirm that result, r.

Doublechecking something. If you go to the following page (in Safari), are you being told that you've got issues with your Shockwave Player (even though it says your Flash Player is fine)?

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

If so, if you visit that page in another browser, like IE or Firefox, do you get told your Shockwave Player is doing fine?

If I go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ in Safari, I see a "Test Adobe Shockwave Player" page that tells me installation was complete and that the version of Shockwave is 10.4r25. If I then click on "Test your Adobe Flash Player installation", I see the animation and it tells me the Adobe Flash Player was successfully installed, but going to the Adobe site mentioned in my initial report still produces the same error page. If I go to the page you referenced in MSIE 8, I see a similar "Test Adobe Shockwave Player" page, but the Shockwave version is listed as 11.5.9r615. Clicking "Test your Adobe Flash Player installation" produces the same animation and "successfully installed" message. However, the site mentioned in my initial report does not produce an error in MSIE 8 or Firefox 3.6.12.

I had not uninstalled at all. I only reran the installation by clicking the "Get Macromedia Flash Player" button from the previously cited error page at Adobe's site ( http://www.adobe.com/help/enus/flash_apprequirements.html?riareqerr=browser&refapp=/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm).

That said, I just tried first uninstalling per the instructions you provided the link for and behavior is unchanged. I still get the erroneous results described in my original post.
