Install for upgrade to latest ITunes will not work

When I am prompted by Apple to update my ITunes software to the latest version, I hit OK and it starts the download. Then it gets through about 2 minutes of the download and just gets hung up at about 7.4 MB of 12.5 MB. It's just a portion of the ITunes download. I'm not sure what to do. I have to end up stopping the installation and going through Task Manager to end the installation or it just sits there.

I really need to get the latest version of ITunes so I can update the software on my IPhone. I don't want to have to go through uninstalling the ITunes from my computer and reinstalling it, if I don't have too. Does anyone have any tips on what to try? Thanks.

hey guys, I got my solution. or someelse told me and it worked for me...

create a new user, make it admin, and try to install/update from that new user.

***** to have a user just to upgrade / update the Mac and iphone/ipad, but at least it wokred.

the theory is that a re-install o the OS will fix that... but at least this is a work around
