iPad is stuck on rebooting mode after iOS 4.2 upgrade
I just updated my iPad to iOS 4.2. The upgrade process seemed to be completed from the iTunes application but my iPad is stuck in the rebooting mode for 45 minutes and counting. The iPad screen is displaying the Apple logo and a progress bar. The progress bar is stuck at what appears to be about 90-95% for 45 min without much progress. How long should I wait or should I manually reset the iPad?
Yesterday I was updating my iPad too. It happened the exact same thing..
After waiting for a long time I putted my iPad in recovery mode (without unplugging)
After this, the iPad started to load the progress bar from the beginning...
Then I decided to wait... Suddenly it ended (I did have to wait for a long time too after rebooting)
What I think you should do: Wait
Good luck
The same thing happened to me. The problem is that now every (re)boot is very slow. Resuming from stanby is still very fast. I don't know what to do... Go to an Apple store?
been waiting for this upgrade of iOS 4.2 of iPad
it takes ages to download it to iTunes and then when i sync it to my Ipad all my rented movies in my iPad are gone... will i get at least refund or do i have the chance to recover all those vanished movies i havent seen (and waited for days to download them)
and yes.. its always rebooting and i had to do it again and and again til my iPad baterrys gone..jezzz LOL i need help
I just called the Apple support. They told me to go into settings->general->reset all settings. and now it boots as quickly as it did before the upgrade. For what it's worth...
I had the same issue and just happened to press the home button once and it removed the progress bar and booted up. It all looks fine and seems to work ok. Must be a glitch in the update package?
I waited and waited and finally ..... it rebooted and seems to be working fine now. I am ready to explore the new features of the OS. I guess we just have to be patient but Apple should at least tell us the approx wait time so we don't think something was going wrong. Thank you all for your comments
