"This photo was downloaded from a photo subscription" but from my camera

When looking in my Unnamed Faces smart folder, (Face is unnamed), I am getting the message "*This photo was downloaded from a photo subscription*" in the Info frame for several photos that were taken with my camera. I never saw this before I moved to iPhoto '11.

As a result, I cannot add faces, change dates, etc., for all these photos, and if I try to edit one, I get the message: "*The selected items cannot be edited in iPhoto.* No editable photos were found." However, I can rotate these photos.

The only Share menu options not dimmed are Email and Set Desktop.

If I search for these photos in my Unnamed Faces smart folder, they are not found; I only see them when I click the "next photo" arrow from a previous photo from Unnamed Faces.

When I search for these same photos in Photos, all these problems go away. It is as if there are some corrupted duplicates in existence, but I don't know how to find them, since the equivalent to the iTunes search for duplicates feature has still not been implemented in iPhoto, and my library has over 20,000 photos in it.

Has anyone else had similar experiences, and does anyone have any workarounds?
