How do I sync without losing everything?

Hi everyone,

Recently my laptop decided to completely crap out, harddrive fried unexpectedly. I had to send it in and get a new harddrive. As such I have lost everything from it, including all my music.

So I'm wondering if there is some way to get the files from my iPhone back onto my laptop. I also worry that if I hit sync everything will get deleted from my phone (pictures, notes, apps, etc.), since this laptop obviously has no backups on it or anything of that sort. Not entirely sure how that works.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You have no backup copy of your computer? Not good.

Your iphone will be erased when synced.

You can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone before you sync. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases

If you enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry in your computer, then you should get the option to merge when you first sync.
