I'm confused. If you can't transfer files between the MacBook Pro and the iPhone, then why does the Pro have a utility for that purpose? (Bluetooth File Exchange)
Answer: Because a lot of non-iDevices have the necessary BT profiles that support BT file transfer. I have an older PDA and I transfer files via BT to my Mac.
How then do I transfer files to the iPhone (My iPhone syncs to my desktop Mac, but not my MacBook...)
Answer: One way is to use the DropBox app on both devices and computers too. Upload them to DropBox and then either import them to the iPad via the DropBox app or sync them to you iPhone from DropBox on your computer.
