Bluetooth: "Device does not have the necessary services"

Hi all,

So I was playing around with my MacBook Pro and tried to send two pictures to my iPod Touch (4th generation) via Bluetooth. Both devices "recognized" each other and the link was set up, but when I tried to send the pix, I got a message on my MacBook Pro: "the device does not have the necessary services."

Any idea how to make this work?

Thank you!

This is not, and has never been a feature of the ipod touch ( or iphone).

Bluetooth is for stereo headsets/speakers and some peer-to-peer apps from the app store.

I'm confused. If you can't transfer files between the MacBook Pro and the iPhone, then why does the Pro have a utility for that purpose? (Bluetooth File Exchange)

Answer: Because a lot of non-iDevices have the necessary BT profiles that support BT file transfer. I have an older PDA and I transfer files via BT to my Mac.
How then do I transfer files to the iPhone (My iPhone syncs to my desktop Mac, but not my MacBook...)

Answer: One way is to use the DropBox app on both devices and computers too. Upload them to DropBox and then either import them to the iPad via the DropBox app or sync them to you iPhone from DropBox on your computer.
