Q: ... Edit in place ...

Hi,

I'm triying to setup a device to use it as edit in place.

I've 3 MBP, one of them is the server with ESATA hard disk share.
I access to the hard disk via network. this hard disk is setup for proxies etc ...

I just want to manage project version in FCS, but everytime media used in the timeline are duplicate (in FCS folder).
So medias are already on this hard disk, so no need to be duplicate on the same media.

How to configure ????

(everyone in the U.S. has been on vacation the last couple of days)

I would verify your paths are correct. The path to the edit-in-place device must be specified correctly for both the server and for the file sharing clients that connect remotely.

Also see if there are errors in the admin logs.

If you enter them via the System Prefs (rather than in the client's prefs) you'll be less likely to make a typo.

In order to make a non-Xsan device edit-in-place, you'll need to modify the device in the Administration window of the client software.

Path need to be like :

file://localhost/Users/mymane/Movies/FCS/RUSHES
