Safari themes or colors?

Is there a way to change the "theme" or color layout of Safari 5.0.3? The grey scale is rather boring and hard to read at times. For example, previously I was using Google Chrome as a browser and enjoyed the customizable themes and site logos in the bookmarks bar.

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

No, not from Apple.

You can Google for 'skins' for Safari but be aware that most if not all of them will crash your Safari!

yes, definitely. You'll have to find a 3rd party that creates theme specifically for Safari. The company I've found that does this is BrandThunder. They have a gallery of Safari themes to choose from. It's way better than the boring gray bar at the top, I fully agree! https://gallery.brandthunder.com/en-US/gallery/All/Safari

These are not actually themes, I do not recommend using them.
