Yes, if fact that is how I get back to the home screen.
Unless someone else has any ideas, I guess I'd try restoring it and hope that fixes it. You could also try taking it to an Apple store and see if they have any other ideas.

I just finished restoring it 7 times because the software was screwed up. Would I be able to take it into to the Apple store in Best Buy considering I don't have a dedicated Apple store in my area?
I'm just a ipod owner like you, so I'm afraid I'm not real familiar with Apple service options. I don't know if Best Buy just sells them or also offers any kind of service. Perhaps someone else will respond to that question, or you could call them and ask.
