Belkin hdmi cable and adapter not transferring sound from laptop to t.v.
I bought an hdmi cable and the other adapter that goes to in my macbook pro and then onto my television for movies and stuff. Everything works well, except there's no sound coming from the t.v. ,but rather from my laptop. help?
It might be that it's not an adapter that supports audio out.
“On some noncompliant Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapters, the audio signal may not be passed to the HDMI device.”

It may also require that you select HDMI as your audio out device. This is certainly the case for a MacMini with HDMI, I'm not sure if this would be the case for an adapter as well.
“In System Preferences, select Sound. Click the Output tab. Select your HDMI device from the list.”

It could be that the adapter you are using doesn't support the audio transfer or that you aren't running the latest Mac OS software.
Another solution might be to add a separate audio cable connection from your Headphone port on the Mac to the TV. Be sure that the settings in your Sound System Preferences panel are configured correctly.
