I have an application that I run on my MacBook Pro, poker tournament software, that I would like to see on a TV screen. Is this possible with the new Apple TV?

Also can I do the same thing if I'm using Windows XP via bootcamp. I can have both the MacBook Pro and the Apple TV hardwired to my my network or I can use WiFi.

Thanks,

Chuck

No, the Apple TV cannot do that.

Apple TV won't help, but you could cable-connect your MacBook Pro directly to the TV, assuming you have the right connectors.

If you have a Mini DisplayPort on your MacBook Pro and an HDMI port on your TV, you could connect using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Other adapters should work if you don't have the referenced ports.
