Airplay and iphone4

Does airplay/appleTV work with iPhone 4 after the new update? I can't seem to get my Apple TV (2nd generation....brand new) to recognize my iphone4. Is it supposed to?

iMac intel core duo, MacBook Pro 2Ghz Intel core duo, iPhone 4, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

yes it works.
both the appletv and iphone need to be on the same network, and airplay needs to be enabled on the appeltv.

They are on the same network, and airplay works fine with my iPad. But the apple tv and my iPhone don't see each other at all.

So you've updated your iPhone to 4.2.1 and wifi is on but you don't see the airplay logo?

With AirPlay the Apple TV does not recognize the iPhone, the iPhone recognizes the Apple TV.

When you play a video from the iPod app on the iPhone you should see the AirPlay logo above the right side of the volume slider.

My phone says I'm running 4.1. But when I synced the last time, iTunes said my iPhone software was up to date. How's that?

Have you upgraded the Apple TV to iOS 4.1?
Go to the General settings on the Apple TV and select Software Update, 4.1 is required for AirPlay.

You also need to have iOs 4.2 on your iPhone.
