A temporary "fix" to your scrambled display.

I've replied to other posts stating how I took my macbook in for a repair at the Apple store, but to no avail (they replaced my logic board). I still receive scrambled images in Safari. However, using Firefox resolves my issue with a scrambled display. Every site that gave me issues in Safari does not reappear in Firefox. Which leads me to believe that the scrambled display is a software issue rather than a hardware one. I hope this helps those dealing with the horrifying idea that your brand new MacBook Pro is defective. Let me know if this is a viable solution for you?

P.S. I purchased my Macbook on July 22 2010.

I contribute to these forums a lot, and I don't actually see your complaint. Please explain to us under what possible scenario would Safari give you a scrambled display and not Firefox.

I can't. So obviously it's not a software error but something you've done.

As Becko stated in his post.

"I get these distorted graphics everyday while using safari, specially happens on Top Sites, on Gmail, Youtube ... I took my MBP i7 to Apple Care Center, they said they run all possible tests and didn't found any problem at all."

That was my issue. I have screenshots of the same event occuring whenever I open up Safari. The man I spoke with at the Genius Bar also could not find the issue.

I have the same problem, I have a 15" MacBook Pro (2010) which experiences scrambled video, but mostly happens when I am off AC power and the battery is around 15-12% left charge. I guess it has something to do with the Intel graphics, since the MacBook will try to change to Intel in order to save as much battery as possible. If someone has a solution, please let me know.

Hey
I followed the other guy's advice (sorry can't remember your handle) and unchecked the automatic switching thingie in the preferences. The problem hasn't happened again. My slight concern is that I'm going back home to France after the Christmas break and I don't want to be stuck there with this problem. I'll give myself a few more days and see what happens, and then take it in.
Thanks again, and best of luck
(oh, another fix, as mentioned by someone else, is to simply stop using safari but I don't want to do that, I like to use Safari on the Mac, it makes more sense visually)

That would be your opinion. It's always a good plan to not state opinions as if they were facts. My opinion is they are very helpful and knowledgable people who have helped me with my personal Mac and our business Macs many times.

Maybe you are projecting your own personality on them?
