step by step wifi set up

I got a new wifi unit and I don't remember how to set it up on my ipod touch. I chose other but don't know what name to give it or what the security is or anything. I'm totally not tech savvy so any help would be much appreciated. I literally needs instructions that a child can understand from beginning to end.

If you have a home wireless network, I suggest you spend some time with the person(s) that set it up. They can give you the details about network. Since we don't know what you are trying to connect to, instructions are kind of pointless.
