Phantom (Fake) Facetime Call

Received a facetime call from my girlfriend around 6:27pm PST, however she and her phone were right next to me and her phone was not making any calls. It automatically initiated video on my end and I tried to answer it, but it hung up. She does not have a Mac either, so she didn't initiate a call from a computer. Also, I'm seeing other people posting that they had the same thing happen around the same time.

Add another one to the list. While sitting on the couch next to each other with our phones in hand my wife received a supposed facetime call to her iPhone 4 from mine, but mine was completely idle. I came up and tried a call from my computer to see if my Apple ID account had been hacked, but noticed that call from there originated from my e-mail address. So now I'm very concerned because it looks like it came from my cell number.

Not cool.

This happened approximately 9:30pm Eastern.

For now Facetime = disabled.

Same here in the UK. At 2.28am GMT, my sons friend received a call from my son which we've confirmed did not take place. This morning, we've learnt that there has been a spate of phantom calls throughout my sons school - so a lot of kids with disturbed sleep and lots of annoyed parents!

Please fix this bug Apple!

My wife and I, both with Iphones4 4.0.2 and 4.1 respectively, received Face Time calls simultaneously from friends at 02:27 am GMT (London). Friends, who don't know each other, assured us that they didn't do it. This is worrying as it kept us awake for the rest of the early morning hours.

Same here, I live in Warsaw and my parents rang me worried because i'd been ringing them at 2:28am (uk time) like everyone else I wasn't ringing and was asleep.

This looks like a technical glitch as everyone seems to be getting the call at about half past the hour regardless of location. But getting a call from your parents at 3.30am (warsaw time) was very worring, my heart was in my mouth expecting the worst...

Same thing happened to me last night at about 02:30 GMT while I was fast asleep and my computer was off.

Facetime made a few phone calls on its own, setting off panic buttons all around the world to random people on my address book.

Following many emails and worried phone calls this morning, I launched Facetime and there were no records of any 'recent calls'.

I only have Facetime on my laptop, not on my phone but it was so weird I thought I was losing my mind. When I tried to delete the application following a friend's advice, I got an error message saying that it cannot be deleted because the application is in use, even though it wasn't. I really had to struggle to get rid off it, restarting a few times.

Can anyone explain what is going on?

Me and 3 friends all received FT calls at 0226 UK time this morning 28/11 (we were all asleep)

FT has been awful for the last few days, most of the time we try and FT each other it appears to ring from the ringers end but it isn't ringing on the other end, it is taking 2 or 3 attempts to make a connection

Sometimes it just hangs on connection and dies

It has been fine for months, only the last few days it has been awful (since the update)

Is the issue with the phantom calls and poor connection/ not ringing on the other end all linked?

I Hope so.... i want this fixed soon!

Thanks

Hi,
Yes I also received a call from my son's number in Poland at 2.28am U.K.Time on November28.
The calls, 5 of them, according to that figure in brackets never connected and do not show up as missed calls in red.
When I called his number he said he had not called me.
Is this a Star Tekkie thing or more serious?
Only happened once and that since upgrading to 4.2.
