Dvd, can ipad play dvd video

Most DVD's are region encoded. It would be a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to instruct you how to break that encoding and copy the content from those DVD's to your computer and then to your iPad.

Regardless of some persons opinions, it is illegal and not considered fair use.

You should be able to with the "Digital Copy" technology, right?

FYI: Region coding has nothing to do with the DMCA or encrypting the contents of the DVD. There are region free DVDs that are encrypted.
The content on the DVD is encrypted and according to the DMCA, it is illegal to break that encryption.

You can use programs like "iFunia DVD to iPad Converter" to convert all your home-made or non copywright-protected DVD´s.

You then drag them onto your iTunes library and sync them to your iPad.

Yes, HANDBRAKE is the free app to use. They take a while to convert, and then your problem is hard drive storage. I wouldnt store any movie on your iPad. It will fill up fast!!!!!
