Most DVD's are region encoded. It would be a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to instruct you how to break that encoding and copy the content from those DVD's to your computer and then to your iPad.

FYI: Region coding has nothing to do with the DMCA or encrypting the contents of the DVD. There are region free DVDs that are encrypted.
The content on the DVD is encrypted and according to the DMCA, it is illegal to break that encryption.
Yes, HANDBRAKE is the free app to use. They take a while to convert, and then your problem is hard drive storage. I wouldnt store any movie on your iPad. It will fill up fast!!!!!
