iPhone 4 - 4.2.1 update stuck HELP?

I was updating my phone to 4.2 firmware but I got half way through and the update seemed to have stopped. On my iPhone screen it shows the 'Apple' logo and the update status bar underneath it (about halfway full). I've waited for hours but it still has not moved, what should I do now?
