Apple TV2, Airplay, and Hulu Plus

My life won't change if this doesn't work, but I would at least like to know "why not" if it won't. I have updated my iPad and my Apple TV2 to the latest operating system and software. Airplay is turned on for my Apple TV.
I started a television show on Hulu Plus, double clicked the interface button on my iPad and chose Apple TV. Nothing happened. The show continued to appear only on my iPad. What have I missed?

Mac OS X (10.6.5), Apple TV. 64 GB WiFi iPad

the Hulu Plus app does not support Airplay (same as any other 3rd party app).
Airplay only works with video played via the ipod/movies app and youtube.

Thanks, Chenks! I have learned after 30 years of going back and forth from newbie to oldbie again and again that it is always profitable to ask questions and not make assumptions. There have been many struggles with new Apple TV and I didn't want to just assume I couldn't do it. Have a great holiday season!

Depending on the Hulu Plus app updates, you should be able to do this with the recent iOS 4.3 update. Third party apps are now supported for use with Airplay to an Apple TV.
