Dropped my iphone - now not working at all

My iphone slipped out of my hand, and now does now switch on at all. also slight crack in glass at the top of the front screen.

Would apple replace this if i make a genius appointment?

Also would there be a charge?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

is that warranty expired? if not. immediately give the iphone to nearest apple store

Yes it is still under warrenty.

I just wondered what the chances are of it being swapped. Im willing to pay for a replacement which i believe is £140.

Dont want to make an appoitment to genuis bar if i cant get a replacement, as my nearest apple shop is miles away.

never think about miles away if your iphone want to neat and clean give its to nearest apple shop as soon as possible. i think in your circle(UK) need some amount of money for replacement

Damage due to dropping the phone is not a covered event, since its not a manufacturing defect.

They should repair/replace the damaged device for a flat fee, in the US it's $200 which seems to translate into your price correctly.
