I started having problems this morning (Nov 29) when my screen refuses to rotate when I turn my iPod Touch 4G. I also checked my friend's and she has the same problem (she has the 3G). Does anybody else have the same issue? Do I have to restore my iPod settings or is this a hardware issue?

Thanks.

Ipod Touch 4th Generation, iOS 4

Make sure that the orientation lock is not on. Bring up the recently-used Apps tray by double-clicking the home button, swipe the tray to the right, and look for the orientation lock button at the left (iOS 4).

Same here. iPod touch 4G screen rotation works only very occasionally. Never on the home page, never with Remote, never with Skype, never with Settings, never with many other apps. And no, screen rotation is not locked.

I am glad, that my iPod is able to rotate the screen now after unlocking orientation.

That is because Setting, Skype etc does not support landscape. Only some apps have landscape.
