Yes. AirPlay can also be used with wireless speakers to stream music from iTunes.
One company iHome will have the hardware available soon, information here.

If you have an iPhone there's an app available to use a Remote.

There is a nifty app for the mac if you have one called Airplayer. It turns you mac into an Airplay compatible device.
