Issue with Spaces - Snow Leopard

My issue is with Spaces. Here's the issue outlined in a situation that happens often:

- I have Photoshop allocated to Space 2 and Illustrator to Space 3.
- Let's say both apps are open with a file open in their respective Space.

In Leopard, if I were to double click on a Photoshop file from a Finder window in Space 1, I would be immediately taken to Space 2, where Photoshop resides, and the file would open -- everybody's happy.
However in Snow Leopard, the file opens in Space 1, so I'd have a Photoshop file open in Spaces 1 and 2. I cannot drag the file from Space 1 to Space 2. If I try, I'm zipped over to Space 2 and then immediately zipped back to Space 1. Very frustrating and happening with files regardless of the application/assigned Space.

There was another topic I found where someone describes the exact issue I'm having, but it doesn't seem this person found a fix and I too have yet to find a fix for it.
The issue I'm having is described by this person as the second problem outlined in the original post in this thread - http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10122332

Can anyone help?

Ok, got it!

Please refer to the original post and the third post in the following thread: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10122332

Turns out I was having the same two problems as the original poster. It also turns out the solution to his first problem, which he outlined in the third post, happened to solve both problems on my machine.

In your Spaces prefs (Expose & Spaces in the System Preferences), make sure "When switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for the application" is checked!

Seems to have worked for me!
Here's hoping this solution helps others with the same problem. =)
