Mini Displayport to VGA and Dell P2211H resolution problem

Hello,

I have just brought a Dell P2211H monitor, which supports 1920x1080 native resolution, but when I connect it to my MacBook 13" using the mini displayport to VGA adapter the maximum resolution I can choose is 1360x768, how can I force a 1920x1080 resolution?

Are you in Mirrored Mode or Extended Mode? In order to get that kind of resolution, you need to be in Extended Mode by going to Display Preferences and unclicking Mirrored.
