Use iPad as Preview Monitor with DSLR (nikon)...possible?
I have the idea to purchase the iPad but a still have a question...is it possible to us it as preview monitor for my dslr (nikon d300) using a cable input?

Hi, there is an option now available... It's called blueSLR and works on Nikon cameras, apparently they will have a canon option eventually.
It's the only way I've seen that doesn't require you computer to be connected to the camera all the time or using wifi

This works for some, but other (like me) have had trouble maintaining a connection between the camera and the iOS device.
I've posted elsewhere on the fix for the connection issue - put your iOS device in airplane mode before connecting to the camera. Do that, and the Nikon WU-1A wireless adapter and associated iOS app work great.
