Messaging - Remove The Pop Up Alert?

Is there anyway to remove the pop up alert when you receive a text message?

All I want it the tone/vibration and not a pop up saying message from XXX has arrived.

Nope.
Can turn off the preview, but will still see you got a txt with popup.

Not totally. You can set the iPhone up to not show a preview of the text message, but it will still show who sent it if that's your goal to hide. All of the settings for texts is in the settings/messages menu.

No there isn't. You can restrict the amount of information that is displayed when you get the popup by turning "Show Preview" off or on in settings.

Thank you all for the quick replys.

I'd already changed it so it just popped up with who had sent it. I have nothing to hide with the messages, just find it irritating if I am in a different app the message pops up over it!
