Missing Plug-in for Apple Mail?

I've been plodding through all the things one must do when switching from OS 10.5 to 10.6. (Most importantly, iMovie 06 and iDVD 11 are working great.)

Anyway, I have noticed that when I send out an email that has a PDF attachment, that when I look in my Sent file, the PDF does not appear. Rather, "Missing Plug-in" is there.

In OS 10.1 thru OS 10.5, the PDF attachment showed up when I would look at the sent email. What Plug-in am I missing?

I now see that incoming PDF's also Show up as "Missing Plug-in".

I have OS 10.6.5 on a Mac Pro.

I had a related experience. I was trying to attach a jpg to a Mail reply. I got the dreaded Missing Plug-In instead of the photo. I tried the Java preferences reset, etc. I rebooted. I tried everything and nothing worked. Then I opened up a New email and I could attach the jpg to this email, so I trashed the old reply and used a New email instead. There was something about the incoming email that was causing the problem. It had a windows jpg that may have been the culprit. I don't know.
